ESPNW has released the Impact 25 this week, a list of exceptional athletes and influencers who made the largest impact on women’s sports this year. The list is broken up into 12 athletes, 12 influencers and one Woman of the Year. Serena Williams and Li Na made the list as athletes while Billie Jean King was honored as one of the 12 influencers.

As a part of making the list, each person had a written feature done on them, and Serena sat down with 18-time Grand Slam champion.

The two discussed everything from Williams’ pursuit of Steffi Graff for most Grand Slams in the Open Era, her up and down 2014 campaign and her friendship with Caroline Wozniacki.

“Well, I want to move a lot faster on the court. I want to be more dynamic and just completely awesome out there,” said Williams of her tennis goals in 2015. “And I need to bring my serve back. My serve in 2014 was a little disappointing for me. I want my 2013 serve back, but a better version of that for 2015.

China’s Li Na announced her retirement from the sport earlier in the fall, concluding the career of one of the more influential athletes in recent memory. She had previously became the first Asian tennis player, man or woman, to win a Grand Slam with her 2011 French Open title, and complemented it with an Australian Open title in 2014.

Her titles meant a lot more than just trophies, as her success on the court has inspired a generation of Chinese tennis players as well as helped other Chinese athletes keep their athletic earnings.

Billie Jean King was named as one of the 12 influencers primarily because her role as Olympic Delegate for the United States at the Sochi Olympics in February. There, she helped continue the conversation of LGBT rights in Russia, and has had a lasting impact on her sport for decades now.
