The North Carolina women remain atop the ITA Division I College Tennis Rankings for the second straight week, while the USC men leap back ahead of Oklahoma after the Sooners were upset by Texas A&M this week. This is the first ranking edition of the spring that is based on a computerized point-per-match formula, which caused several major changes.

In women's singles, Virginia's Julia Elbaba is back at number one after being leapfrogged last week by California's Maegan Manasse, who is ranked second this week. Clemson's Beatrice Gumulya & Jessy Rompies are the top-ranked doubles team for the second straight time.

In men's singles, Virginia's Thai-Son Kwiatkowski retained the number one ranking and is now trailed by fellow Cavalier Ryan Shane, who is ranked second. Vanderbilt's Gonzales Austin and Rhys Austin are the new number one ranked men's doubles team.

The men's top five saw two new teams shuffle in and two shuffled out. Illinois and Duke are now ranked number three and four, respectively, taking the places formerly inhabited by Georgia, which fell from number three to number seven and Virginia, which slipped from fourth to 11th. Baylor remains fifth for the second straight week.

Texas A&M and Mississippi are two newcomers to the men's top 10. The Aggies recorded upsets over former number nine Ohio State and former number one Oklahoma, both by 4-3 scores this week in College Station. The Aggies are up to nine, the Buckeyes to eighth and the Sooners to number two. Ole Miss improved from 15th to number 10 to round out the top 10 and has wins this spring over number 17 Florida, number 21 UCLA and number 34 South Carolina.

On the women's side, number one North Carolina remains in place this week, but there was plenty of movement across the Top 10. Georgia and Florida swapped places behind the Tar Heels, and the Bulldogs are now ranked second, while the Gators are number three. USC is new to the Top 10 this week after improving from number 11 to number four. The Trojans upset former number five California this week and sent the Bears down to eight. California rebounded a day later to defeat UCLA 4-3, sending the Bruins further down from their number one perch earlier this season to 11. Virginia rounds out the top five this week, up from number seven.

Trailing Virginia in the Top 10 are number six Baylor, which held on to its ranking this week, number seven Stanford, up three spots, number eight California, number nine Alabama and number 10 Michigan, which improved five spots from number 15. The Wolverines defeated number six  Baylor 4-1 and fell 5-2 to number one North Carolina this week.
